Trash Free Mid-Year Recap

Underwater scene with pieces of floating macroplastic (plastic bags and bottles). At the top are the words, "Trash Free MD 2025 Mid-Year Update," with cleanups, volunteer hours, plastic policies passed, and 15 policy and learning sessions.

At the mid-way point in the year we are celebrating:

  • passing 3 state and local policies that will reduce single-use plastics and trash pollution,

  • 3 cleanups with over 200 volunteers clocking 360 volunteer hours to cleanup up litter and capture counts of litter to inform our policies aimed at stopping litter at the source

  • organizing 15 advocacy, policy, and learning sessions for our TFM policy coalition.

Thank you for supporting our vision for a trash free Maryland by writing to your legislators and sharing our posts on social media! If you like what we do, consider making a one-time or recurring donation now to amplify our impact. A donation of $50 helps fund a cleanup or a learning session for our policy coalition members from across the state.

And we’re looking forward to our next events:
